AQS SEAFOOD CERTIFICATION
All my products are certified by the Alaska Quality Seafood (AQS) Program. AQS is a non profit, 3rd party independent quality assurance firm, funded in large part by the USDA. AQS certification ensures that the best salmon in the world is also consistently high quality.
Working with fishermen and processors, the AQS program has improved handling procedures, established uniform grading standards, and certifies the effort with independent quality inspections.
The Alaska Quality Seafood Program attracts the state’s most quality conscious fishermen and processors as its participants. Participating fishermen help to preserve the quality of salmon from the moment they are caught by following detailed handling, chilling, and delivery guidelines.
AQS certified processing plants follow AQS protocol from receiving to shipping. AQS certified participants are subject to unannouned inspections and annual audits. This ensures that the greatest portion of each catch can achieve the highest quality grades.
